AIGA DC CreateAthon
Design and Flow partnered with AIGA DC to provide a workshop on stakeholder mapping and creative briefing for six non-profits in the Washington DC area during the CreateAthon DC 2018 - a 24 hour hackathon when volunteer designers helped create new marketing materials for organizations in need. I had the privilege of designing and leading this design strategy workshop. Additionally, I created a digital toolkit for the organizations to use as a reference after the hackathon was complete.
SXSW EDU Learn By Design Honorary Award
Design and Flow had the pleasure of presenting at the 2018 Learn by Design competition hosted by SXSW EDU. We showcased The Ghata Project, a system for creating accessible education for refugees by creating physical spaces alongside education and cultural programming within displaced communities.
It was a pleasure to receive an honorary award from the panel of education and design specialists.

“We’re all in this together, and together we can really make an impact, drive change, and ultimately create a better, more sustainable, more socially conscious world. At the end of the day, that’s what we need as a community, as a culture,” said Suzannah Tarkington of Design and Flow.
The Design and Flow team received a 2017 honoree award in the category of Exhibition/Installation for our exhibit Transitions: Migration and Travel. Thank you to NYCxDesign, Interior Design Magazine, and ICFF for selecting our work out of 700 applicants and to MoMA for hosting a lovely awards evening.
