Design and Flow is a strategic design collective that facilitates actionable change. We identify relationships and highlight opportunities in order to design behavior that encourages positive social impact and shared responsibility. As a design strategist and communication lead, I develop, design, and curate innovative programming and events along with social media campaigns.
We are reframing design and empowering designers.
Based in NYC, with satellites in Paris and Dubai, Design and Flow partners with like-minded individuals and organizations from all design backgrounds and corners of the world. Together, we #AddFlow to turbulent social, economic, and environmental situations and promote new design interventions. We then disseminate the collaborative work through a variety of outlets to increase reach, adoption, influence and impact using our strategic methods of Conversation, Creation, Curation, and Circulation.
Thoughtfully crafted and curated, Design and Flow’s unique design exhibitions focus every year on our current theme. We focus on exposing innovative and thoughtful designs and designers on a larger scale to show how this type of work is impactful in multifaceted ways.
In 2017 we presented our theme In:Bodied during New York Fashion Week at the event Wear Your Values sponsored by the Human Rights Foundation along with the Oslo Freedom Forum and Re/Make.
The 2015 -2016 theme and exhibition "Transitions: Migration and Travel" looked at the fundamental role that design plays in bringing awareness to the specific issues of global movement, immigration, and the refugee crisis. The exhibition was held at two Wanted Design locations, one in Brooklyn’s Industry City, and the other at Manhattan’s Terminal Stores.
As PR liaison I handled all media coverage and built key relationships with editors and online sources to cover the exhibits. I also assisted in the exhibition design, creating HTML email blasts, and creating media lists.
I am in charge of press coverage and contacts for all events, exhibits, and promotional campaigns. We have been featured on The Creators Project, Trend Tablet, LS:N Global, Design Milk, Design Milk Everyday, The New York Times, and The Window. Our collaborating designers and the D&F Label have been featured on the New York Times.
The D&F Label
The D&F label launched during New York Design Week 2016 with a series of innovative and socially conscious pieces designed in collaboration with various international designers. The collection is made of exclusive products and features objects, accessories and visual design that are numbered and sold online on the Design and Flow website and in selected speciality and concept stores worldwide.
